The famous Timpanogos Storytelling Festival is looking for audience nominations for a featured teller this year. This is an exciting opportunity to make your voice heard in supporting your favorite artists (you can nominate three). We encourage you to take a moment to share some names through the link below. As Great Hall directs two local storytelling contests, we'd love to see some local talent. If you need ideas, here are some suggestions:
Stephen Gashler - we hear he's cool. As a storyteller, he's taken home 1st place from the National Storytelling Network Slam, he was a 2 times winner of the Timpanogos Hauntings contest, a winner of Utah's Biggest Liar, and the holder of 7 audience choice awards.
George McEwan - 6 times winner of Utah's Biggest Liar (plus audience choice awards). No one has come close to competing with George's winning streak. His stories are known for their dry wit, side-splitting humor, and clever wordplay.
Lynn Wing - winner of the 2020 Hauntings contest, many times place holder, and former president of the Utah Storytelling Guild, Lynn is also known for her wit and masterful telling of both spooky and hilarious stories.
Alan Kendall - winner of the 2021 Utah's Biggest Liar, Alan had the audience in stitches with his hilarious mix of truth and exaggeration. Both humorous and thoughtful, he shows all the promise of a great entertainer.
Dale Boam - former winner of Utah's Biggest Liar, many times place holder, and audience favorite, it's hard to compete with Dale's brilliant humor, spooky tales, and knack for engaging the imagination.
Elizabeth Dodds - former winner of the Timpanogos Hauntings contest and many times place holder, Elizabeth can be both spooky and hilarious. The all-encompassing word that comes to mind is charming.
Sam Payne - Sam is our personal favorite, and he's been featured at the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival before (the only reason we didn't put him at the top of this list). As a singer, songwriter, and storyteller, he's the best Utah has to offer, and we'd love to see him at the festival again.
This is in no way a comprehensive list, as we couldn't possibly write about all of the great talent we've had the pleasure of meeting, but we hope this will help get the ideas coming. |
