Get ready to experience a hilariously chaotic twist on a beloved classic with "The Phantom Breaks the Opera"! This uproarious musical spoof masterfully blends the eerie charm of Gaston Leroux's "The Phantom of the Opera" with the side-splitting misadventures of live theatre, where Murphy's Law takes center stage. When the masked ghost of the opera meets an accident-prone cast, prepare for a night of spectacular mishaps, unforgettable melodies, and belly laughs that will have you rolling in the aisles.
All roles are available (both singing and non-singing), and anyone can audition. While all positions are volunteer, cast and crew can receive 40% of the ticket revenue they bring in. Callbacks will be on December 14th at the Angelus Theatre in Spanish Fork. Rehearsals will begin in January in Springville and Spanish Fork, and performances will be in March at the Angelus Theatre.
If there are a sufficient number of auditions, this show will be double cast, so there are many roles available. This is a new work in active development, so cast and crew may be invited to collaborate, and elements may change as they're tested and refined for the premiere. If you don't enjoy experimental theatre, this may not be a good fit for you. Also, please not that this show will be physically demanding, involving a lot of movement and stunts.
Auditions are virtual. You'll be asked to share a short video (no longer than 30 seconds) showcasing your singing or a comedic monologue. To learn more or to get started, click on the button below. |
